These settings provide a rather limited amount of customisability on the website. The X-SAMPA setting is mainly aimed at those whose browsers are incapable of displaying the IPA characters properly, which (hopefully) should primarily be mobile browsers.

All of the settings are stored in cookies, and are saved instantly when the corresponding checkbox is toggled. You will need to refresh any open pages on this website in order to see the effects of the changes you make below.

Note that only the IPA/X-SAMPA setting will have any effect if JavaScript and/or page styling is disabled.

If checked, the navigation tree on the left will not move when you scroll vertically. This is especially useful if your computer can’t keep up with the immense CPU power and graphics memory that the incredibly unsophisticated and straightforward script on this website doesn’t consume. Or if the motion makes you feel slightly ill.

Uses X-SAMPA instead of IPA where the two differ. This is useful if your browser fails to display the high-Unicode characters of IPA. If your browser is indeed incapable of Unicode, you may want to consider upgrading to a proper, modern browser. Unless you’re on a phone, in which case you are forgiven.

Disables the page previewer, which is used for... previewing pages (on this website). It can be seen by hovering internal links such as this one for 1.5 seconds. However, note that whenever the previewer is shown, a request is sent to my server, asking for the content of the page to preview; if you have a limited bandwidth, it might be wise to disable it. Also note that Internet Explorer apparently fails to display it properly, most likely due to a severe lack of quality in the implementation of web standards.
